I had never heard the Litany of Humility until the first day of Lent this year, when it showed up as the opening prayer of the season. It honestly caught me off guard. Since then I’ve been revisiting it once a week alongside the Serenity Prayer, just sitting with it slowly. In a world full of outrage cycles, propaganda, and constant attempts to recruit you into one side or another, it’s strangely grounding, nudging me away from ego and status and back toward trying to be a better human being.
