"content": "When I was growing up, my grandmother had a garden where she kept butterfly-attracting plants. In the middle was a birdfeeder.\n\nShe had her own set of names for the birds. I heard these names so often that I started to think of them that way. And they weren’t exactly flattering.\n\nHouse Sparrows were Little Stinkers\n\nStarlings were Crybabies\n\nAnd Goldfinches were Piggers because they’d sit there and eat all the seed while the other birds had to wait their turns.\n\nSome things don’t change.\n\n#birds\nhttps://ecoevo.social/system/media_attachments/files/116/329/490/853/920/779/original/26f3e0b477eda3a1.jpeg\nhttps://ecoevo.social/system/media_attachments/files/116/329/490/986/043/026/original/a98978252a57a1b3.jpeg\nhttps://ecoevo.social/system/media_attachments/files/116/329/491/145/656/460/original/ba00f070f0a32de6.jpeg\n",
