I've encountered people who say stuff like "have the kid it will all work out!"
I mean... of course it will "all work out" once you have a kid you'll do whatever you can to make it work out. And to the extent that it doesn't work out, there isn't any point on focusing on that.
But I think most people would feel bad if they can't provide for their kids at least something as good as what they grew up with. And THAT isn't a small order at all.
