There’s a bug, I think in the new xyz front end that Alex pushed recently, that means follower-only posts are not working correctly, both within and beyond xyz. There may also be a wider federation bug, but it seems that the only way to guarantee that users (on either) will see a follower-only post is to @ them in it.
