DivestOS is a custom android-os (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) ROM kinda like GrapheneOS (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) and CalyxOS (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) except DivestOS is mostly a coding project, while the GrapheneOS and CalyxOS devs spend most of their time using social media to gaslight people.

Despite this difference, DivestOS is also involved in security theatre (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) and likely under control by the same arm of the global deep state (Wikistr, Wikifreedia). This deep state control over DivestOS appears to be more indirect than it is in the GrapheneOS and CalyxOS projects, but that could simply be a result of all 3 being set up to have 1 look like more of an independent, rebellious underdog.

Like the other two, DivestOS also gaslights users on its website, trying to give a false impression of what it can do. The project also targets Pixel devices and specifically focuses on taking away their unique advantage of single-party accountability (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) (by incomplete deGoogling (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) - as opposed to complete deGoogling which would be good, but isn’t possible without different hardware).

DivestOS may still be worth using on devices that are no longer receiving official updates, as DivestOS does legitimately offer extended updates with patches for newly-uncovered Android software backdoors (Wikistr, Wikifreedia) and other security flaws.

DivestOS is a fork (split-off version) of LineageOS (Wikistr, Wikifreedia), a separate project forked from the original Android OS.
