With clients selectively doing whatever they want sometimes I miss replies. Amethyst and Primal are two popular Android clients and they show different replies to my notes. I will definitely lose some interaction if i keep using one client. I am pretty technical, imagine experience of novice and not yet discovered new users. With already small number of users, losing any interaction hurts the network imo.
