I got jumped and stabbed once but they waited until my back was turned to attack. I was able to fight them off and they got spooked and ran away. In that scenario I was lucky I didn’t go down as things would’ve gotten a lot worse. I’ve thought about it and for sure I couldn’t have accessed a gun while the two dudes were assaulting me. And getting a hypothetical gun taken from me in the melee would’ve made things a lot worse. Guns can definitely save your ass. I’m not denying that. But I think most people have never really needed a firearm and probably won’t. And in some cases the firearm can make things worse. But in your situation it sounds like it saved you.
