It&#39;s called the &#34;generational contract&#34; - where one generation pays for the retirement of the previous generation with their contributions to social security and pension insurance.&#xA;&#xA;Telling pensioners in Germany to return to work to make a living basically translates to a breach of the generational contract and it also means that the current generation wont receive the same form of retirement the current generation has received. There has been already comments - also from Mertz - that Germans shouldn&#39;t rely on their &#34;statutory pension provision&#34; any more but take steps to also have a private, non-mandatory pension plan. In other words the current generation is contributing to something that doesn&#39;t exist any more and from which they wont benefit in the future.&#xA;&#xA;Let that sink in for a minute and then ask yourself why am I still paying taxes?&#xA;&#xA;nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqmn477tj8972x227pax2p77xawwv0xlgtwha644ax7pzpj5wae6wqy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7qpqcp3upvk6qhxk62drw03duw75z6t3a58wqagzpre6at62p9gsc2wqef8tjf</html></oembed>
