That allows us to use switchroot() instead of kexec(). But I don&#39;t know if we can do that on the apple platforms yet (I haven&#39;t looked in to it), so we may be stuck with a legacy loader or possibly a much smaller loader to do kernel selection and nothing else on these platforms. In general we&#39;re going to wind up with slightly platform specific implementations, no way around it.</html></oembed>
