I looked up why.&#xA;&#xA;Primal does not read the relays when you open the feed. The app talks to Primal&#39;s own cache server, cache2.primal.net. That server sits on the relays all day, stores a copy, and answers the client from that copy. The notes still live on relays. The view you scroll is theirs.&#xA;&#xA;From Europe that extra hop is the lag. A round trip to a US cache is often about 120-180 ms before the first byte. A direct socket to a European relay is often about 20-40 ms. For a following feed, a few narrow queries in parallel beat one fat reply from America.&#xA;&#xA;The cache still wins on search, threads, and an unknown profile. On the feed I actually open, the direct client like nostr:npub17fe5rak0reatm7y5xu3yvve0trl8njvjt4yflevhyxqpwv22mlfs3wnzuc is the faster one.</html></oembed>
