We just had our first litter, but only 3 survived. The rabbit droppings are doing wonders for my soil and my garden. Even if you don't eat the rabbits, they are worth having for building soil. We keep ours in our garage so they are convenient to take care of, so the critters don't try to eat them, and so their temperature is moderated. The garage doesn't get as hot or cold as outside. I love the community you are creating.
