We actually do use electronvolts, for example, which aren’t Metric but are perfectly suited for our use case. Much of our machine tooling is calibrated in Imperial units, so we’re often flinging numbers around in Mils - which can potentially lead to serious confusion because it sounds a lot like millimeters. Nevertheless we bounce back and forth, depending on the situation, and the contexts have always been clear enough to prevent confusion.
