It&#39;s dangerous&#34; &#34;Self-host. but not like that.&#34; &#34;You have to know what you&#39;re doing&#34; &#34;Learn about this/that way to protect your bitcoin&#34; &#34;This scam is bad&#34; &#34;Scammers are everywhere&#34;&#xA;&#xA;I often use open-source software. Like most people I don&#39;t audit the code. So of course there&#39;s a small chance that malicious code I have on my computer can do me something nasty. But I don&#39;t have the keys to my life savings on my device 😀 &#xA;&#xA;One guy two weeks ago downloaded a bitcoin wallet from Cannonical&#39;s SnapStore. He put in his special code and in the blink of an eye lost half a million dollars worth of bitcoin. &#xA;&#xA;Try doing that with fiat money 😀 &#xA;&#xA;95% of the population has none of the necessary computer skills to safely secure their life savings on some device in their living rooms. &#xA;&#xA;Entrusting their life savings to the Bankman-Frieds of the world is not a safe solution either. &#xA;&#xA;I know much more than average about computers. I know that nobody really has much incentive to hack my family&#39;s devices. So they don&#39;t. &#xA;&#xA;But add huge amounts of crypto to the equation and suddenly very smart hackers will be very tempted to try to break in and get some lucrative codes. </html></oembed>
