<oembed><type>rich</type><version>1.0</version><title>daniella wrote</title><author_name>daniella (npub1tm…ucu5x)</author_name><author_url>https://yabu.me/npub1tmda3pwknv0sx55g8d0lhcehqqhf8jke6rd2st5fr0pgkhau9y0qyucu5x</author_url><provider_name>njump</provider_name><provider_url>https://yabu.me</provider_url><html>Been thinking about the Core/#Knots debate. &#xA;&#xA;&#xA;Going back to first principles and Satoshi&#39;s Bitcoin Whitepaper:&#xA;https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 1: Bitcoin is a monetary network&#xA;&#34;peer-to-peer electronic cash&#34;&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 2: &#34;Honest&#34; nodes secure the network&#xA;&#34;The system is secure as long as honest nodes collectively control more CPU power than any cooperating group of attacker nodes.&#34;&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 3: Nodes keep the network decentralized&#xA;&#34;peer-to-peer&#34;&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 4: Bitcoin must remain decentralized and secure to function as a monetary network&#xA;&#xA;Bitcoin, as it was originally intended (&#34;peer-to-peer electronic cash&#34;), dissolves the false illusion of fiat by imposing Universal Laws in service to humanity and thus transforms the world.&#xA;&#xA;&#xA;Bitcoin Core v30 Related to:&#xA;- First Principle 1: Violates Bitcoin as a monetary network by welcoming larger non-monetary data on to the blockchain&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 2: Compromises Bitcoin&#39;s security when nodes become public data storage forced to hold and relay illegal content uploaded to the blockchain by bad actors&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 3: Compromises decentralization when it becomes too expensive, too complex, or illegal for regular individuals to run a node because the blockchain is bloated with non-monetary / illegal data&#xA;&#xA;- First Principle 4: Bitcoin is no longer a decentralized or secure monetary network if the previous first principles are violated&#xA;&#xA;Bitcoin, as storage for .jpegs and other non-monetary content, becomes a shitcoin.&#xA;&#xA;&#xA;Core is not Bitcoin; we are Bitcoin.&#xA;&#xA;&#xA;There is a thin line between &#34;Bitcoin will be fine&#34; and &#34;we need to act to keep Bitcoin fine.&#34; The simple solution is to vote with your node 🧡&#xA;&#xA;&#xA;On a positive note:&#xA;&#xA;- This debate is strengthening Bitcoin as a monetary network; it is getting more plebs involved, running and actively managing their nodes.&#xA;&#xA;- It has made the issue of centralized mining more visible to the community and invited more plebs to run solominers. &#xA;&#xA;- It has also provided excellent signal!
