They are not. I don't care what people write. Write it. But call it what it is. Haiku is not a 3 liner nor is it 5-7-5. I made a badge for haikustr. I've quietly given it to 4 people on here who wrote actual haikus. Either they paid attention to my writing, read haïkus and studied up on it, or whatever. They made the effort. It is insulting to artists who have taken up the art and practice of poetry and writing. This trash harms serious artists and writers by diluting the meaning of what haiku is. I write and share openly my daily practice of haiku and share my poetry and other writing. It takes immense effort to write and I ask for nothing in return. I am now considering leaving.
