I&#39;ve learned a lot and I still have much more to learn.&#xA; &#xA;Here are 10 tips to help you make the most out of a new #Nostr profile.&#xA;&#xA;1. Introduce yourself and use this hashtag: #introductions &#xA;&#xA;2. #asknostr when things don&#39;t work or make sense (if you&#39;re not a developer there&#39;s a bunch of stuff that isn&#39;t immediately intuitive). &#xA;&#xA;3. If you aren&#39;t really into #bitcoin, just ignore it. It won&#39;t go away, but you can reduce how much of it you encounter by only following content you are interested in. Nostr has plenty to offer in the way of art/music/culture.... You&#39;ll probably want to set up a Wallet for #zaps still though. Note*You can stretch a dollar&#39;s worth of bitcoin a long way with small tips (21 sats is a popular amount to tip and that&#39;s like a fraction of a cent of something).&#xA;&#xA;4. Yes. You should set up a bitcoin wallet for #zaps. I use nostr:nprofile1qqst4qyeqenw7zm0fwjsty68h6cnys5jre2xd8ngqpjv5a2j26s78fspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm0d9hx7uewd9hj75a0pev. There are many others to choose from. If the concept confuses you, #asknostr.&#xA;&#xA;5. Terminolgy: your post is a note, your app is a client (i.e. I use the #amethyst client). #Zaps are tips using small increments of bitcoin called sats. The good people of nostr are known as #nostriches. Your npub is a public address. It&#39;s OK to share. Nsec is private. Protect your Nsec. If you lose it, you may lose access to your profile. If someone else gets it, they can take over your account.&#xA;&#xA;6. Spend some time trying to understand what a relay is and how/why to choose between them. There are some pretty good resources out there somewhere. #asknostr for help.&#xA;&#xA;7. Don&#39;t follow people just because they follow you. And don&#39;t follow people for sats. That&#39;s cringe. There aren&#39;t a lot of scammers and bots yet, but the phenomena is increasing. Be careful out there!&#xA;&#xA;8. There are no algos to guide you toward your interests. You have to seek them out on your own. Curate your follows with care. You can make with a really great community of frens this way. &#xA;&#xA;9. Interact with others. Say stuff. Sometime&#39;s, it&#39;s more important to comment on other people&#39;s notes than to make your own.&#xA;&#xA;10. Don&#39;t give up! It may seem lonely out there at first. IMHO, you should probably have at least a weekly presence here. It may take a few months to start seeing the benefits of this amazing freedom-tech, but it&#39;s worth it. For your efforts, you will be rewarded with the friendship of real human beings. You will have real conversations and you will develop real community.&#xA;&#xA;*Bonus* try saying #GM (good morning) when you wake up. And say GM back to others who use it too. It&#39;s a thing.&#xA;</html></oembed>
