Then I closed it down because you can&#39;t migrate a node off start9. And I haven&#39;t made a new one. &#xA;&#xA;The only reason to run a lightning node I can think of is if you actually need it for real purposes besides self-custody. But I don&#39;t think it should be a goal for everyone. &#xA;&#xA;As the layers go up, sovereignty goes down. If this ever becomes mainstream at a population level, I think most people will operate in a non-sovereign mode by default. And as they accumulate more BTC, they may choose to move down the layers to gain more independence. </html></oembed>
