Most people in Europe attended a formal mass two or three times a week, and the Church also served as the social center for the community.&#xA;&#xA;Larger churches would also have an attached monastery or abbey.&#xA;&#xA;Senior management in Rome was highly political and corrupt, but the local churches were dedicated to spreading the Word of God.</html></oembed>
