I’ve got 4, with a 5th on the way, and they don’t want for anything. We don’t make a ton of money, and the money we do have, we spend on experiences, food, music lessons and sport. If you want kids, don’t let the money you don’t have stop you. You will figure out a way to make it work. It will require tradeoffs, sacrifice, and putting your needs aside, for the betterment of your family and the future of our shared world. Kids aren’t cheap, but if you don’t buy into the bullshit, buy second hand, live small, and do activities that are free after an initial purchase at a swap meet, or second hand gear sale (ski touring, fishing, surfing, hiking, camping, guitar lessons, piano, etc.) then it’s manageable.
