This creates another loop within products and allows you to keep on top of content you may have otherwise missed. Come to think of it, perhaps a new tab in DMs would be nice. Call it "Subscribed" or something. Then no matter which client you're in, as long as that's supported you can see a summary of content you have subscribed to. I still think there should be a way to plug in an email, even a throwaway to get subscribed content that way as a lot of people still handle to-dos via email. I think that would be a great way to onboard from outside of nostr.
