Yes, it's just a word, but words absolutely matter. I've never understood the view that they don't. Especially given all the history and research and just the existence of humanity that suggests otherwise. Giving it a different name absolutely conveys information, otherwise the other word wouldn't exist. This issue is exactly why words matter so much. The intent wasn't originally bad, but the ability to misuse it was always there the moment people gave validity to the idea that installing software they want to is "sideloading". That's why I think it's important to recognize this, learn from it, and avoid it in the future. I am not side loading. I'm installing software on MY device.
