What am I missing? Why do they think this thing is going to work? Merit aside, from a pure consensus perspective, they seem like insane people. Me: some, like Fred Kruger, are just grifting, others don't understand but it makes them feel good. There's an objective reality that people want to reject when it doesn't align with their ideals. it's easy to build conviction in things that feel good while ignoring the reality of our fallen world. the technical reality is you can't stop "spam" on bitcoin because it is a commons. You can just socially ostracize and condemn those that damage the commons while not participating. See Eph 5:11 will people do bad shit on the internet/bitcoin? yes. can you stop it? no. Should you do it? no. Should you condemn those that do? yes. This is all orthogonal to the technical reality that it has no technical or industry support because the technical people understand it's not a solution (which should be given due to the temporary nature of the proposal) because there is no solutions, only trade offs. bitcoin isn't Jesus so isn't perfect and some people can't accept that it's a tool to be used for the glory of God, like anything else in this fallen world. it's the heart of man that determines the tools moral alignment
