{"type":"rich","version":"1.0","title":" wrote","author_name":"npub1fp685rwn5pecyxu7edf49g9r8630tdm440srjvjq5psmtklg56lscnfr2h","author_url":"https://yabu.me/npub1fp685rwn5pecyxu7edf49g9r8630tdm440srjvjq5psmtklg56lscnfr2h","provider_name":"njump","provider_url":"https://yabu.me","html":"To be honest it was a long journey and still ongoing.\n\nThe first seeds where planted at school when I was like ~16.\nOne teacher explained how a mortgage works and that most pay their house 3 times.\nOne time for the principal to be paid back and two times that amount in interest.. \nI'm in Europe, we have mortgage of ~25 years and interest rates between ~2.5 and ~10% over the last ~30 years.\n\nSo I started my career with a mortgage that was insane low according to my advisor, who also accused me of \"thief of my own wallet\" for not taking a mortgage based on stocks, I refused additional money for renovations and even a car passed by as option, and I demanded a shorter period than usual that I even surpassed by making more deposits than required.\n\nAll that made money available for saving and I saved in physical Gold and Silver (I did understand inflation and roughly how the fiat system worked).\n\nI was quite late with Bitcoin and still remember that arguments against Bitcoin in Gold forums made me realize the same argument I heard before against Gold.\n\nOnce diving into Bitcoin all pieces became together.\n\nI never was the smartest guy in something special, but always wanted to understand the basics of most everything I run into.\nThat helped enormous with understanding all those aspects involved with money.\n\nIn those 30 years I have met some 10 guys who roughly understand the system.\nAnd to my frustration one of them, I regard as one of my best friends, I haven't been able to explain Bitcoin.\n\nHe is well protected so I can live with it, but still....\n\nI'm stubborn enough to say out loud to any audience they are probably wrong.\nAnd some baggage picked up early on defined who I am.\nBut one needs some people who you can talk to who also understand and agree (well I do).\n\nBut being right is not always appreciated.\nEarning more money than others is also not helping.\nRetirement 10  years ahead of people making twice the money you earn and having tried to explain things early on is somehow also not helping.\n\nAnd in general realizing how things work in a messy world (completely fucked up, is scaring most people away instantly) is also not always easy.\n\nNo clue what age you are, but you need some mental protection against all that.\nIf older one is hardened a bit more but time is running out quickly.\nIf younger things can be overwhelming but you have way more time to get things in order.\n\nWell that was a short introduction 😉\n\n\n"}
