All the software engineers say its so easy, and sure to them it is. But setting up a home server with a node, then figuring out a desktop wallet, then figuring out something safe like cold, is anything but easy.  I would say 98% of average people will never get this far.  So then they have other easier options like Bitkey where the data is connected to the icloud, or on an exchange, or a blind signing tangem"}
