I've been rethinking my relationship with the internet. Some of you might recall me as a creator on twitter, where my primary use of social media was to share science and surreal jokes. I've long since deleted my account, and a million new platforms rushed in to fill the void left by the once pleasant [enough] twitter. Hello! I have maybe a silly question about here - when I'm tootscrolling, I often see posts that have very few favourites but a lot of reposts. On other platforms that typically only happens when people are quote posting to dunk on someone, but that's clearly not the case here.

Am I missing a Mastodon etiquette where reposting things you like is standard but favouriting is not? Or do numbers on favourites not display properly?
