But in case this helps, we had a wonderful rabbit named Butternut who would use his litter box except when we changed out things and it was nice and fresh. We would put a few poops in for scent but that didn’t help. So BunDad decided to take the top of our (gas) kitchen stove off and give it a good scrubbing. (It did need it!). Unfortunately, the aluminum screws which secured things had lost all integrity. But BunDad carried on, planning to get new screws and then put everything back together.<br/><br/>Of course, you cannot buy the little replacement pieces that you need, only kits. And these kits (one for each of the four burners) cost as much as a new stove. Our stove was past its predicted life expectancy, and recent research has suggested that it is better to have an electric stove than a gas stove, due to indoor air quality concerns and climate change. Whenever I have a rabbit on meds for the long term, I check to see if there is a cheaper human equivalent that my pharmacy can fill. For example my Lily Bunny needed glaucoma eye drops for years. That helped a lot. But my vet was always great at recommending things, too. Our rabbit rescue friend suggested giving him 60 MLs of water and then sitting him in a clean carrier with an upside down pee pad liner (so that the waterproof side is up.
