Given that money is involved, I think that I have to correct a nuance regarding our blog post (personal opinion) so as to not have people feel misled: We are generally very frugal and tend to prefer upcycling hardware that would otherwise be useless as a _matter of principle_. It's also why we chose to promote another non-profit that repurposes hardware to those in need.

what is important to the project is not your ability to respond fast, but your ability to prevent the hobby from becoming a full-time unpaid job - i still fail at that.

the solution is: on-boarding, then delegate, delegate, delegate. if nobody else is there, tell the people in your issues that you're at capacity and could use extra help.

There isn't an active pull request for federated PRs/issues (PoCs exist), discoverability (PoCs exist), everything is unit tested (now: against GTS as well), there is not a lot of front-facing functionality (yet). A lot of necessary groundwork is ongoing - a lot more work in maturing the moderation tools is also needed, but that has been moving forward because of Codeberg's presence as a massive instance (e.g. user blocking and reporting other users are Forgejo features now).

It's ongoing, but it will still take a decent amount of time ...
