The sign claimed this was the path, but it got harder going after this and led to a collapsed bridge with a barbed wire fence in the way that would have had to be climbed over to reach. A better way was spied from the top of the ridge, even if a "desire path".

This is in the Beal Valley, Shaw, Oldham, Greater Manchester.

One Nation Underground is the debut album by American psychedelic folk group Pearls Before Swine. It was released on the ESP-Disk label in July 1967.

The album became the most successful ESP release ever, estimated to have sold between 100,000 and 250,000 copies. Early vinyl copies came with a small poster of the Hell panel from Hieronymus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights, a detail of which was used on the front of the album sleeve.

It looks like this could be the remains of a track in edgelands between the North Manchester hospital and a lorry park. In 1890 it was ground between Manchester Workhouse and the hospital and it is always possible it was a well used desire path back then.

Pink Flag is the debut studio album by the British post-punk band Wire. It was released in November 1977 through Harvest Records. It was produced by Mike Thorne, recorded from September to October, 1977, in Advision Studios, London. The album was acclaimed on release, and has since been highly influential; today it is regarded as a landmark in the development of post-punk music.

Reviewing in 1978 for The Village Voice, Robert Christgau called Pink Flag a "punk suite", praised its "simultaneous rawness and detachment" and detected a rock-and-roll irony similar to but "much grimmer and more frightening" than the Ramones...
