Another downside of Cloudflare: your website becomes pretty much inaccessible from most of Germany in the evening. Think 30 second ping and half of packets dropped.

Google “Deutsche Telekom Cloudflare” to dig in the rabbit hole. Has been a problem for years…

I read that Go was created to replace C++ for some use cases, but it never really appealed to C++ programmers at large, likely because unlike C++ it is quite a 'dumb' and inflexible language.

Instead it appealed to Python programmers, who got a decent type system, still a relatively simple language, and much better performance.

Ergo if there are no users interacting with it remotely through a computer network, this does not apply. You cannot interact remotely with non-running source code living in a GitHub repo.
