Nordea and S-Pankki I believe work fine. Danske Bank's Mobiilipankki works but Danske ID does not, so you'll need a hardware token from Danske Bank (it is free). Not sure about Osuuspankki but there is a forum post that had a list of tested apps.

I had the opportunity to meet up with jolla (npub1xrs…qupw) again to talk about (and see!) how the new Jolla Phone is progressing, including new iteration that is using tooling and not hand-made.

The tolerances are really fantastic now. No gaps! The buttons and privacy switch felt firmer, with the power button now being a bit more recessed to make accidental presses harder.

Gone is the antenna tape, proper antennas are now around the device. Stronger battery shield. There were some design changes made to the interior (TOH2 side) to hopefully give any prospective TOH2 hardware designers in the community some more flexibility. I'll let Jolla dive into that since you never know if it'll evolve further beyond the iteration I saw.

The Other Half 2 cover is now using an orange resin and not just a white base + color being painted on. It looks _more_ orange as one might expect. TOH2 snaps firmly into place now thanks to improvements to the tolerances.

I'm really looking forward to July to get my hands on a finalized model!

Remember folks, there are other options to Android besides just iOS. Sailfish OS exists. Plasma Mobile exists. PureOS exists.

They aren't going to provide the same level of experience. You won't be able to install apps that require more and more egregious attestation. You might even have to switch how you communicate and down the line as more developers bend the knee and turn on shit like Play Protect, change who you bank with or the services you buy.

And you know what? That's okay. I'm not a personal liberty absolutist by any means, but lines have to be drawn somewhere. It's my fucking device, I will use it how I want.

Things really coming together in a good way for the Buddies of Budgie (npub1sdr…838t) budgie-daemon work I have been doing.

Spent a bunch of time thinking about the schema for display / mode bits and think I'm fairly happy with the initial pass, but still want to expand on it with getter / setter for specific Properties and supporting PropertiesChanged.

Looked into various options for DBus on C++ and it basically came down to dbus-cxx and sdbus-c++. sdbus-c++ API looked much nicer and they have better documentation, including setting up the conf bits needed for systemd.

sdbus-c++ made it a breeze to get a DBus Server going and C++ generated from the XML schema with sdbus-c++-xml2cpp. Very happy with it so far, but I just plugged in my first method so we'll see how things go as I work on it further 😁

Hopefully distros can get their packages updated to 2.0.0 one of these days though. Noticed both Arch and Fedora are chilling on 1.5.0.
