allow yourself to stop reading a book that you don't enjoy. read what you love. read what you hate, just to trash it in book club. read in a genre you've never tried before. read a single book over an afternoon or a decade. read that boring old doorstop novel, just in case (trust me). read comics or fanfiction on AO3 or nothing at all.

liberate yourself. give yourself permission to read whatever feeds your mind and soul; give yourself permission to read whatever you find FUN.

my personal reading manifesto, straight from my librarian heart:

reading for pleasure is wonderful but it is not a morally superior activity. if you enjoy reading, i hope you read whatever you want without guilt, and allow others to do the same. your reading choices do not make you a better or worse person.

you don't have to pressure yourself to read a certain way. it doesn't have to be measured or judged. life is short and books are plentiful and they are not meant to be a burden.
