In macOS 15, Apple removed the option to right-click and choose “Open” to bypass Gatekeeper and run an unsigned app. Instead, you open the app, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, and click a button to allow it. https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=saqachfa

This process doesn’t work in macOS 15.1. Given the notice above, this seems like an unintentional bug to me. https://hackaday.com/2024/11/01/apple-forces-the-signing-of-applications-in-macos-sequoia-15-1/

There’s an easy workaround! Remove the quarantine bit in Terminal:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine Example.app

Since I got my MacBook Air I keep having an issue where, as far as I can tell, some unknown app that doesn't have UI is activating and taking focus. It happens maybe 2-3 times a day. When it happens, the app I'm using is still the front-most visible app, but it's no longer active—so if I'm typing, or trying to use a keyboard command, it doesn't work. I've tried to track down the cause in Console, but there's so much data there I can't tell what's going on. Any idea now to track this down? #MacOS
