I just thought of something we put so much pressure on significant others in relationship relationships when it comes to dating or even if we’re just talking and getting to know somebody. <br/>For example, if somebody is not making plans to meet up with you right away, whether it’s a local or long distance then, people are like well if they really were into you they’d be doing this. They’d be doing that. Or if they were really into you they’d be talking to you. They’d be blowing you up . But then we don’t put that same type of pressure on our friends that are platonic or even family members. And not to say that you don’t have to put effort in work into friendships or even specifically dating/intimate relationships. <br/>But like I feel like if we want others to show us grace even as friends for not always being there why can’t we do that for our significant others? Why do we have to set the bar so high for them when they’re at the end of the day, just people like us Who have lives have other commitments apart from dating us. And this isn’t to say that we can excuse them from being absent from their relationship, but we also have to give a little to get a little and we also have to give grace in order to get grace. And sometimes things aren’t always going to be easy . I don’t think I would want the kind of easy relationship where everything is just always easy because, if you don’t have hardships once in a while throughout the relationship, then you don’t really have a way to grow to build to learn new things to figure out if you Can find ways to get through things with each other. And if things aren’t meant to work out, that’s OK too, but to hold such high standards and put all this pressure on somebody when they’re also trying to live a life as an individual alongside, you can probably be overwhelming and overstimulating to them as well.
