But I am sad that you feel that it's all been bad for the past several years.

And I am sad that fosstodon will shut down. 😦

The fact that *someone else* is shipping the `kwin-x11` and `plasma-workspace-x11` packages in the repository doesn't change the unsupported nature of the Plasma X11 session with Fedora KDE.

As a consequence of most systems being SB-enabled by default (or by force) for the past decade, hibernate functionality has gone largely untested and unloved.

The Chrome OS folks were going to fix it some time ago, but that stalled out and now with CrOS rebasing on Android, there's no hope left unless someone funds it.

The main value of Red Hat Enterprise Linux is wrapped up in all those certification programs. Red Hat participates in vendor certification programs for RHEL to run on, and software vendors also have certifications with RHEL (sometimes in both directions!). Managing the requirements of these certifications is what they do for a RHEL user.

Most people don't need to worry about them, so CentOS Stream is more than fine.

And that means sending it to labs and waiting for them to rubber-stamp it. This matters for RHEL but not really CentOS, so CentOS gets it right away while RHEL users have to wait.
