I'm volunteering for the tech part. But I don't want to deal with moderation, etc.

For the IP issue. Maybe we could figure out a way to rename the server, but keep all the data, etc. I'm not sure if it's supported by mastodon. Worst case, we would create a new place to move on to.

It might not be worth the work if the fine people from other servers let us join them.

Here are a few more shots of the Mortis Engine.

This model was sitting at the very bottom of my pile of shame, and would probably have never painted it without #FediPaint
It's a very large model, and in one month, I couldn't give it all the attention I wanted.
I think everything I have painted those past 2 years have been of a higher technical level, but I couldn't afford to spend more time on it.

My second entry for this #undeath #fedipaint competition is the Mortis Engine from Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

I got it when I started my Nighthaunt army, in the malignants start collecting set, but it was not playable with Nighthaunt.
Later when Soulblight Gravelords were released, it got the new keyword and was added to this faction.

Here is my first entry for this #undeath #fedipaint competition.

This is Vargskyr from Warhammer Quest: Cursed City.

It was my first attempt at using the #airbrush for something else than terrain pieces. Most of the skin has been done with the airbrush. More traditionnal techniques have been used for the other parts.

Small win of the day, the mortis engine fits into my lightbox.
I pulled out the came to take photos of Vargskyr and the mortis engine for #undeath #fedipaint.
I used focus bracketing for the first time.
I quickly checked the pictures on the computer, and using an open source focus stacking software, I could get a good result from low res unedited jpg exports.
I'll edit tomorrow (exposure, color, crop, ...).

I didn't manage to do what I wanted with precise shade placement. I ended up shading the whole thing, and I will dry brush one last time tomorrow.

I also need to find the actual position of the banshees and stick them there...

I want to complete the model tomorrow, and take the pictures on Saturday.

After the past 2 days battling with the airbrush, I wanted to get my first #undeath #fedipaint entry closer to completion.
I put a few more colors on the base, combination of shade and drybrush.
I also painted the rocks, and the small vine growing under Vargskyr's foot.
It's missing a couple more coats of nurgle rot, some grass tufts, and another layer of paint around the rim.

I started to put rocks on my Cursed City miniatures.

I like the bigger ones and have been using them for several years. Only one or 2 per base make it seem like there are big rocks.

But the smaller end up being too big for the scale, and I think I put too much of them.
Also my glue was old, dried and chunky.

I will try to add some texture paint and see the result before doing other miniatures.

Those 14 months have been long, but no miniature of my Cursed City box has plastic grey left on them.
This is a total of 60 miniatures, at 4 to 10h per miniature.
It has been hard to find the time and motivation along this project. But the sculpts were some of the best I have painted so far.

I still have to base everything, I will do that slowly with no target date.

So my 4yo daughter woke me up at 7am. She wanted to build and paint the Kruleboyz she got yesterday.
We started by building it, and putting basing materials before breakfast.
It got sprayed before lunch. And we spent about 1.5h painting it in the afternoon after the nap (mine, my daughter doesn't anymore).

I let her paint most of it. I only painted the hard to reach area, and used wraithbone to fix the mistakes between colors.

Maybe the gloves need a grey highlight instead of brown.
