Had it not been for Vimjoyer&amp;#39;s great introductory videos, I think I would have bounced off NixOS as soon as I started trying. Even now, after I&amp;#39;ve been using Nix for about half a year, I still have issues that I just don&amp;#39;t know how to solve. Debian/Fedora, and even Arch don&amp;#39;t have these problems.

I&amp;#39;ve experienced this a few times with different programs, but the most damning was bash vs. fish. Both shells, both with similar configuration options, and yet bash used initExtra whilst fish used interactiveShellInit for the same outcome. Repeat this scenario with 120,000 packages, and good luck trying to have uniformity.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The downsides of being the biggest software repository in the world. #firstworldproblems
