Glad I had the Irish mutt as an anchor once or twice, as we scrambled out. The only way to escape was to take the aqua duct. In no particular order; lost a friend to cancer, sudden loss of my mum, rescued a dog in Spain, said goodbye to our soul dog of 11 years, rescued a dog in Ireland, saw the fascist win way to many elections and seats around the world, wars that goes killing innocent people, rich people getting filthy rich and that the most of public, politicians and the MSM really don&#39;t give a shite about the destruction of the rock call home.<br/><br/>In other news I&#39;ve started to run mid January and joined The Green Runners. I clocked up 716 miles in a year, mental to think the most &#34;running&#34; I&#39;ve done before was to get to the ice cream vans first.<br/><br/>Next year I hope I can get to do some longer runs with the mutts as they should be old enough. Sadly I can&#39;t help with cancer or stopping the wars. Set off in thick icy fog and ended up looking down at the frosty fog below. This run was only &#34;ruined&#34; by a detour around a farm, they were bringing in the cows, so going on the footpath through the farm might not be a grand idea with a mutt. So we detoured through a field with deep mud. Never in a million years would I have thought this was possible. I, who always thought that running was only to get first in the ice cream queue, started to run on a regularly basis and not after ice cream vans.<br/><br/>I know, crazy and for yet to be determined reasons, I also came up with the idea of running a thousand miles in one year, and that was dreamt up without the help of alcohol too. Just how and why did I do that, I dunno, I clearly need to have a talk with myself over a stiff drink or two, to come to the bottom of this sillyness.<br/><br/>Yet, it clearly did help, because I have now run just over a thousand kilometers, 1000km, a million meters, in under 10 months. <br/><br/>I know it&#39;s not 1000 miles but it&#39;s a fecking milestone still, especially when I&#39;ve always been wary about my knees and lower back when doing dumb things, like sportsball in the park after a few pints. Heck even when cycling.<br/><br/>Don&#39;t think I&#39;ll get to the original target but I&#39;m well and truly chuffed that I did this, yes there was walking up the hills and still is. I often forget I got them on.<br/><br/>The first two pairs lasted about 1.5-2 years, of daily use, 5+ km dog walking, shopping, hiking etc in all weathers, before they wore out. One pair is still in use as wild swimming shoes.<br/><br/>Sadly the newest pair started to show wear within a month of use.
