Thanks to the work of pioneers from #postmarketos it is actually easy to install any Linux OS on some phones. Here is #gnomeos on a OnePlus 6 that was installed through USB using systemd-repart. A few tweaks here and there, but it is almost stock GNOME OS.

We only test the text to speech part, and not the screen reading. But I suppose the test was written before it was finally fixed. I will see if we can complete the test. Though a smoke test is good to not deploy something completely broken, we need people to raise issues for the details. I hope we will get you back to the Linux community.

We have finally retired the old #gnomeos installer image, and replaced it with the new live image. So now you can actually test GNOME OS before you install it. Get it at https://os.gnome.org/

Typically Linux distros have a live system to run an installer that installs a second system. What if instead, we booted from the ISO into the installed system and saved it to disk in the background while already using the system. I call it prêt-à-booter image, and I have made a demo for GNOME OS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gG96DwtUgM

Finally, I have managed to make an hybrid ISO live image of GNOME OS that uses the same UKI and /usr partition as the main image. That is without using dracut.
