Fun fact: the "EnablePasteboardPrivacyDeveloperPreview" defaults flag on macOS doesn't just enable confirmation for accessing the clipboard, it moves the responsibility for an app's main menu from the app's own process into a separate system process (TrustedUIService). This means that the contents of the menus have to be serialized to be sent over XPC to that system process, breaking things such as custom SF Symbols in menu icons. I guess that's part of why it's still just a developer preview.

Someone who works on YouTube needs to realize that bilingual people exist. For a while now the app insists in translating video titles from Portuguese to English (I use my devices in English). If I change the language to Portuguese, it then translates video titles from English to Portuguese. I just want to see the original content as it was posted by the creator. And now it's even auto-enabling AI dubbing 🤦🏻‍♂️ Give me a checkbox to turn this off, please!

iOS developers: there's one more place to clean up if you're running Xcode 16: "/System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime”
Although it's in /System, it's actually a separate mount point so it is read/write. You can delete older runtime folders in there that you're no longer using. This saved ~30GB on my Mac

In case you're curious, I've checked the implementation for icon segmentation in iOS 18 to see how they're generating the dark icons. There's no ML/AI involved, it's all just clever math. IconServices extracts the foreground and determines whether it should be tinted with the background color or left as-is, and there are configurable thresholds for when the results are not acceptable, which is when it falls back to just darkening the icon. Looks like it uses ARM Neon instructions for speed
