Found a Jinhao fountain pen with a Kanwrite nib and put Platinum Carbon Black ink in it. I've done a series of doodles or drawings the last couple of days and this one is the best of the bunch.

I know I'm not an expert, or a someone who can do realistic sketches, but this is my kind of art and it makes me happy. When I'm drawing, my shoulders relax and the outside world fades away.

Picked up a refurb Dell laptop yesterday to put Linux on it. Went rapidly from Fedora with KDE Plasma, to Pop, before settling on Mint.

I got the Linux machine to PRINT something on my network printer. Without even having to curse at it or download anything. Linux has come a very long way since I last tried using it a decade ago.

It took 3 years on the Fediverse before I fell down the Linux rabbithole. You lot are a bunch of bad influences.

From the top I used a Russ Pens ebonite pen and JoWo nib, an Esterbrook Raven with a black nib, a Leonardo Momento Zero matte black with an elastic steel necklace b, and a Namisu Nova ultem and titanium with a Bock steel nib.

Explicit guidance from my boss that even though persons A and B are best and fastest at doing the task, we're going to use persons A and C and deliver it slower.

This is so that C learns and takes some of the pressure off A and B for later. Person D is queued up to for this later in the year.

We are choosing to deliver software more slowly so we can spread the knowledge out and not burn out two very good engineers. I never thought I'd work in a company like this.

It's an introvert, don't fuss with it, perennial plant that looks oddly alien to me and I hope it thrives here! Also a Sea Holly, because it looked cool.

My cat has invented a game where he hides under the bed and I shake his crinkly snake on a stick toy. He waits until I'm not paying attention then explodes out from a different piece of the bed to grab the snake. Having raised my blood pressure and vanquished the snake, he trots back under the bed. Repeat until the cat is done.

To start the game, he brings the snake on a stick to me, drops it at my feet, and howls. I have been well trained.

It's a real Black Friday scrum at my bird feeder today. Downy woodpeckers, chickadees, white-breasted nuthatches, sparrows, a red-bellied woodpecker, a trio of male cardinals, and a pack of house finches.

Today is the first snow of winter and it's about time to refill the feeder. Cat TV does not require batteries, only seed.

Testing some fountain pen dip nibs, I had lost my Esterbrook Oval Point 788, but I might have a new favourite in the oval point falcon nib crossover, the 805.

I used Sailor Jentle blue ink for all of them, and the Ayush paper from Curnow Bookbinding and Leatherworks, which is fabulous for fountain pens but they only sell on FaceBook.
