With indirect lighting, ripples and waves on water are so satisfying to watch and photograph. This was from a canoe camping trip my dad and I took down the upper portion of Namekagon river in May of 2019.

#WavyWednesday

A couple of weeks ago I went on a bike ride for an errand in town, and since I had to use studded tires just to bike along the regional trail, I took a side trip out onto Lake Minnetonka. It was quite cold, but I sacrificed some finger comfort to get a few cool shots with my cellphone. The snowdrifts had some of the wildest windswept forms in them I have ever seen. I had a fun little adventure biking around Big Island as well.

#SilentSunday
#SnowPhotography
#LandscapePhotography

When I learned about Alex Pretti and that he was a member of the cycling community and a fellow bikepacker, I felt grief at the loss of a kindred spirit, and considered trying to organize a bike ride in his honor. Of course others in the Minneapolis cycling community had the same idea, so I'll be heading downtown to join in on a ride on Saturday organized by Angry Catfish Bicycle. It's heartening to see how far this idea has spread from here already.

https://bikepacking.com/news/alex-pretti-memorial-rides/
#AlexPretti #Cycling

I'm betting that they just got crowded out by invasive plants like buckthorn. That's pretty sad.
