the architecture, briefly: USB mode flips CoreMediaIO's AllowScreenCaptureDevices so the iPhone becomes a native AVCaptureDevice. Wi-Fi mode tunnels over Apple's RemoteXPC via pymobiledevice3 and works even when the phone is locked.

fun detail: started on AirPlay -> ScreenCaptureKit, but on macOS Tahoe the mirror blacks out under a capture context. switched to the dev-services framebuffer path instead.

i wanted iphone screenshots on my mac, so i AirPlay-mirrored the phone and tried to capture the window with ScreenCaptureKit. clean plan.

then on macOS Tahoe the mirrored window blacked out the second a capture started. the OS blanks AirPlay surfaces under capture. spent hours blaming my own code.

fix: ditch the mirror, read the iphone framebuffer directly over Apple's dev-services tunnel. real 1179x2556 pixels, even when the phone is locked.
