Otherwise, you’re stuck cutting, soldering, and gluing, hoping you can retrofit some random module from AliExpress or Amazon.<br/><br/>Two days ago I stumbled upon a model on Makerworld and decided to turn it into an outdoor wall lamp using GU10 sockets.<br/><br/>I grabbed some GU10 holders, printed a set in black PETG, assembled everything, and mounted it on the wall. Most parts were printed with a 0.8 nozzle and 0.4 layer height since they’re not visible so i prefere them to be strong and ugly. The visible parts were printed with a 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 layers on a Cool Plate SuperTack for smooth texture for everything that touches the plate.<br/><br/>Now we’ve got exactly the design we want, fully customizable and upgradeable. And since it uses GU10 bulbs, we can easily change brightness and color temperature whenever we want. I can even put some smart bulbs and manipulate them via zigbee and local instalation of home assistant. If a bulb dies, just replace it. No waste, no hassle.<br/><br/>There is one downside though… now we can see some uneven spots on the facade 🤣<br/><br/>Tomorrow I’ll print a top cover in either white or transparent PETG to keep rain out. It was in the middle of the winter, snow falling outside, and we came there after night out and no one was in for more than a month so inside was very cold too. We ran out, called firefighters who lucky for us came fast, prepared whole thing, broke of plaster from one side of the wall and sprayed it with foam never letting open fire ignite so house was saved and basically nothing major happened.
