in the end it was a DP lane polarity issue: USB3 allows lane polarity swap for better PCB routing, but DP doesn't. tricky when you need to reuse the same lanes for both.

—the new toggle switch could really work for me because i often have to switch between dnd and normal mode, but on my fp5 android the button is often broken (doesn't react) in quick settings
—now that i have a lot of pictures on the phone, the camera sometimes doesn't save quickly enough so i lose photos or get motion blurry photos. also the camera often overexposes by default, which is supposedly better on the fp6

well the qcs6490+qcs8550 projects share the same pcb design as the thundercomm modules have a mostly compatible pin layout, so we can do the bringup in a kind of overlapped way. there's also lots of stuff that's not working yet. for me it's very important to see as quickly as possible how well cpu+gpu work with real-world applications before sinking too much time and effort into a module. performance validation so to speak

not sure how qualcomm build these things so that they go so fast ...

yesterday i set up an environment for faster kernel development iteration (esp. for rk3588). it builds a monolithic kernel using the patchstack we have for debian kernel version, but on a real git checkout. i can boot the kernel+dtb directly after compiling over the network (tftp) and into a busybox/toybox/static binaries environment to avoid boot times. i then figured out that suspend to s2idle works with that kernel and added the missing code to dts and fw to make it wake via the keyboard.
