Most of the large managed services were based off of Redis OSS (versions 7.2 and earlier) which were released under a permissive license that can&#39;t be retroactively revoked. Google would have to start paying a license if they were based off of Redis 7.4 or later, which so far they haven&#39;t said they plan on doing.
