Things were quiet, then suddenly got noisy… it went quiet because the Queensland Fire Department decided to omit the <cap:severity> tag from their CAP-AU XML feed.

This broke the Python script that generates these alerts. The missing tag actually violates CAP-AU specifications, which says the tag is mandatory.

For now, we've hacked around it:

This unfortunately means we can no longer filter out all the "minor" stuff. We've re-jigged to do map colouring based on the AlertLevel property, but it remains to be seen what the full gamut of alert levels are out there and how they're spelt.
