Same as others, I moved from Gmail to Proton + custom domain and it definitely worked fine, but now I'm looking for something else less AI-y. Tuta seemed like a strong contender on that front, and I did confirm it works well enough with custom domains, but their clients seemed a bit rough around the edges at the moment. I'll keep an eye on them for sure though.

We got early feedback on Stand Elsewhere that the game was too difficult. So I changed a single number to shift the balance a bit, and suddenly couldn't export a new cart!😕 It turns out we'd been EXACTLY at the #pico8 compressed code size limit (15360 bytes), and the new value was just barely higher-entropy enough to make the build one byte larger.

While King's novella "The Body" takes place in Maine, the film adaptation "Stand By Me" canonically moves Castle Rock to Oregon. It's a story about some folks walking along a TRAIL in OREGON, managing meager resources on a tight deadline, and LITERALLY facing choices like "hey there's a body of water in our way -- should we detour around it, or just walk right through and hope nothing bad happens"?

Somewhere at Adobe, there is an engineering team that's been quietly working on an objectively great new feature. It's still a year or two from shipping, but they're all excited & know the users will be too.

A few days ago, they learned that some folks they've never heard of in the licensing department had pushed through some hugely unpopular new terms. Now the whole company is getting pelted with 💩 from all sides. Every feed calls for boycotts.

I very nearly forgot to celebrate #BlackSquareDay! It really snuck up on me this year, and ended up being a quiet spell at home with the family.
