In this video, I compare Solana and Bitcoin's on-chain transaction volume, uptime record, as well as the requirements for running a node.

Solana has high throughput and low fees, but at the expense of true decentralization. The cost and technical expertise needed to run a Solana node puts it out of reach of 99% of people on earth.

Solana also had a large premine, and suffers from the same problems that plague all proof of stake networks.

Ignore everything in this space except for BTC, because there is no second best.

We don't need to look far to see that Americans nowadays are flush with consumerism, credit, and debt. Our culture feeds off of debt insatiably, and often we fill up our homes, closets, and extra storage units with things that we don't need.

Over the past decade or so, the minimalism movement has made strides to help individuals find ways to reduce consumption and live in a bare-bones way. With consumerism rampant in our culture, it often is difficult to be the exception and move away from this trap. In today's podcast, I discuss some important topics surrounding minimalism, and how I think Bitcoin plays a decent role in the minimalism movement.
