Had a neighbor try chewing me out for checking my bees in our pasture. Thought he was just joking for the first minute, nigga was serious. No I'm not gonna start the pasture on fire with a newer tiny 2.0L engine with 2.5" exhaust. I could lick the catalytic converter and not burn my tongue on a 95 degree day. He then proceed to call my dad and try chewing him out too. He didn't realize I'm his son and was backpedaling like crazy. He's been buttering up my dad for years trying to buy the pasture. Even tried ending the conversation saying he would like me to put some beehives on his place. Fucking asshole boomer man..

Would be to tired to do anything after work and weekends were always spent helping my dad. Even with fancy programmer job I would only be able to save like 10k a year if I really lived frugally. I'll go be a buddha monk before I'll ever get a real job again.

I think I'm going to have to just google business types that I think can use my products in like each state and compile a list of addresses. Then print onto address labels. When I started my previous business I drove around and put flyers illegally in like 200 mail boxes. Got yelled at by a couple postmasters. Played the oh oops! I didn't know sorry card. It got me my first 3 customers then was word of mouth from there.

I think I should be able to radically increase my colony numbers next year and be able to harvest 1000-2000lbs of honey. I messed up this year by being cheap and doing just starter strips of wax foundation on each of my frames. Next year I'm going to use full wax foundation sheets on my 50 or so production hives I'll be starting the spring off with after my initial splits in April. Should greatly speed up their colony growth and give them spots to put honey with much less effort. Even if it just saves them 1/3 of the wax needed to make honey frames, if they make 15 frames in the summer that is like 5lbs of wax that could be 40lbs of honey instead, and being able to have spots to lay eggs earlier should increase colony growth, so more bees to harvest even more honey so maybe I could see 50-75lbs of honey realistically per hive. 50lbs x 50 colonies would be 2500 lbs of honey @$10+ per pound will def help with expansion expenses and help start building my customer base. The other ~450 hives will be just trying to get large enough and gather stores in time for overwintering so I won't get any honey from those, like my current ~30 colonies.
