I was prescribed sumatriptan, but I still haven't used them. The list of heart related issues or can cause kinda scared me.

Also, today, I wasn't 100% sure it was one, then it was too late and the vomiting started. My usual one is lay down and move to the bathroom every 20 mins to throw up (like clockwork). After the 5th or 6th time, I usually kinda pass out and sleep through the rest of it. Today all my upper teeth ached as well, along with the intense head pain 😭

Demolition work is underway on the site, progressing steadily at this 1940s aircraft research facility. Once at the cutting edge of aerodynamics R&D, the site's 8x8ft supersonic tunnel tested flight components at Mach 2.5.

Already the smaller 3x3 tunnel facility and control room have been levelled; this one looks to be set to be next.

Check out those whiskers! This little harbour seal was picked up by my team in October. Found on a beach with a life threatening condition (mouth rot), he was uplifted and taken to a sanctuary for rehabilitation.

He has a special place in my heart as this was my first rescue. 10/10 perfect gentleman, didn't fight/bite me!

He was recently released into the wild, and is out there somewhere living his best life 🦭

It is a MAV-424 Series steam locomotive, a well-known and nostalgic Hungarian machine. These double-chimneyed beasts were often nicknamed “The Buffalo”.

This specific engine was built in the 1940s. Some sources suggest it was in service until 1991.

The stunning late 1800s example retains most of its original features, from the mustard-coloured curtains that line the stage to the retro pendant light fitting hanging from the ceiling. Though officially closed around 2010, the control room remained eerily pristine when I visited a few years ago. The computer terminals were still live, and the lights remained on.

Since its closure, the plant appears to be maintained in a state of readiness, likely serving as a permanent contingency plan for national grid emergencies. It has since been demolished.

This abandoned floating restaurant is moored along a riverbank. This old Danish fishing boat was given a facelift to look like a 1920s-style paddle steamer!

It opened as an 80-seater restaurant serving exotic dishes. The novelty faded quickly, and it closed just 18 months later. It has sat #abandoned for 25 years.

The oval room is lit by an immense skylight, which casts dramatic light across the original green metal control panels. These walls remain lined with levers, valves, and dials.

Inside one of the chambers is a time capsule underground art gallery, of sorts. The walls are covered with around 20 portraits, mostly drawn in charcoal or soot. Many depict women with 1940s hairstyles, alongside soldiers and well-dressed men. Some are signed with initials.

I love old Citroens, especially the iconic 2CV. I found some abandoned ones tucked away in a small English village.

My favourite was the Citroën 2CV6 Dolly. These were mechanically identical to the 1980s Special models (there were also a couple of them in this collection).

The Dolly came with a fashionable two-toned Art Deco-inspired paint scheme. This example is “Rouge Vallelunga”, a classic in red and white.

Sanatorium Medea. An abandoned Soviet-era health resort in western Georgia.

Sanatorium Medea, originally Sanatorium Tsekavshiri, stands on the outskirts of Tskaltubo. Built between 1957 and 1962 in the Stalinist Empire style, it opened in the early 1960s as one of the town’s most prestigious health resorts. Its blue-toned columns and arched façade marked it out as the most monumental spa complex in the district.

The first railway opened in 1895 under the Ottoman Empire. It ran from Beirut to Damascus. By the 1930s, Lebanon had joined the Orient Express network via the Taurus Express link through Homs.

After decades of decline and wartime damage, the final train service ran in 1990.

Built in the 1960s, it once carried visitors 730 metres across the gorge to a nearby theme park. The park closed around 2000, and the ropeway shut with it.

One rounded gondola remains in the upper station, a one-tonne cabin from the 1980s named Silver, painted green with red trim.

Arriving at the approximate location highlighted by my research, I could see nothing but shop stalls in the souk. I threaded my way through the warren-like passages of the market, circling back to where I entered.
